It’s lovely to see the flowers starting to bloom and world starting to safely open up with them!
It’s a busy June for me in the studio, with preparations beginning for my Autumn show, and some lovely commissions coming in!
I am privileged to have been asked to create a painting for a surgeon’s birthday, who works within the NHS! As it’s a birthday present, I can’t disclose any more details than that, until after the big day! It brings me extra joy to make art for lovely hard working people, adding lots of emotional depth to the painting. Stay tuned for more details…
After months of hard work finally, I have completed a painting of my Mum and Dad. The source photo used to live in our lounge growing up, and its always been one of my favourites, and I thought to myself, that would look great in the show! Head over to the Gallery page and have a look “Barbara and John” is the title, let me know what you think! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you can read a little of the back story also!
Recommendation time! I have been experimenting with new mediums to replace turpentine in the studio, and am in love with “Zest” brush cleaner. It works just as well as turpentine but is non-toxic, much healthier for my lungs! What are your favourite art supplies?
That’s all from me for now, until next month!
